Fen's Way Home
A downloadable game
Story
Fen the Fox was away from home, on his way back he found wild animals obstructing his path! Help him get back home in one piece! Fen must traverse through environments like a sunny coast, dark caverns, and deep woods.
Fen has some experience with firearms, but cannot seem to remain steady when firing. Collect firearms to help defeat wild animals along the way. Use the knockback Fen receives when firing weapons to aid in platforming!
Features
Traditional platformer movements. Like moving left or right. Jump off the ground or bounce off enemies' heads.
Collect guns, each one with its own damage, knockback, and a number of shots while airborne.
Use the knockback from the guns in creative ways like slowing down your fall speed or reaching platforms higher than your jump. Or use the horizontal knockback to increase speed in traversing the level.
Defeat enemies by shooting them with bullets or bouncing off their heads.
Currently, there are three enemies in the game.
- An Eagle patrols the sky.
- A Bee guards his area.
- An Opossum happily scuttles across the ground.

I can't describe the feeling of looking at a cute scene with adorable creatures for the first minute to then seeing this character absolutely blast their souls out of existence. Even if this game as a very simple concept, it is clear that some thought was put into the level design with the multitudes of paths put in as well as specific design choices for the player to find certain items. For what it is worth, all 9 minutes of gameplay I was laughing and smiling from the absurdity combined with rather honed levels. Great work.
