Dev Log #2 - Level Creation and Sneak Peaks
Level Screenshots
Attached to this dev log there are some screenshots from the first and second level of the game. There are also some screenshots of the main menu.
From the screenshots, it is clear that there is a focus on both platforming and some minor shooting encounters for the game. The first level contains some tutorial messages to clear up any game mechanics that are not easily noticeable.
One of the main mechanics that is not easy to show through screenshots is the weapons' pushback mechanics when fired. This can be used to help with platforming segments where Fen the Fox cannot jump high enough to reach the top of the platform. Or crossing large gaps that Fen himself is unable to leap across.
Another mechanic that is not demonstrated in the screenshots is the Mario-like head stomping mechanics of the enemies. Doing so provides Fen with essentially another jump.
